Watch out world....

because here I come! I can officially crawl. I've been scooting around for awhile, and doing a weird pivot twist move, but I can now officially crawl like a normal baby. Last night Mommy moved me away from a pile of papers in the office (that I was trying to eat) and I wanted to get back over there....so I crawled. Mommy was amazed, and I got to my papers. Now Mommy said that she really has to be on her game- well to me it doesn't matter. If she isn't on her game I get to have more fun! I get to play with the DVD player, the stereo, the Xbox and anything else I can get my little hands on.

Everything else in my world has been the same. I've been sick for the last month with back to back colds and now they turned into an ear infection in each ear. That's been no fun for me and Mommy, and everyone else I've been around. I've been incredibly cranky to say the least. But we did find out that I am up to a whopping 19 pounds! Maybe now that I can move I'll burn off some calories. We will see. As you can see from Morgan's post, I am now alone at daycare. It's kind of nice not being picked on all day long- plus I'm gaining seniority at day care. I'm not the youngest baby anymore. Pretty soon I'll be the boss at school.

Preschool Pirates

Arrgghhhh...I a pirate! That's what I tell everyone anyway. Things here have been very busy over the last couple of weeks. I started preschool a couple of weeks early. I wasn't suppose to go until the middle of August, but a spot opened up so my friend Evan and I moved over to "the big kid house" at the end of July. Things over here are much more structured then at "the baby school". We have lessons and school during the day so we can learn about all sorts of things. Our first lesson was all about pirates! For the last two weeks we have been making a pirate outfit including a hat, scarf and eye patch. Mommy bribed me with candy so that I would put it on and show her. I decorated it all by myself! We got to color pictures of pirates too. I can't wait to see what we learn next.

Preschool is pretty fun. I even went on my first field trip last week. Mommy went too. We went to a place called Best Fun which had a huge bounce house and slide inside the building. And there were lots of arcade games for us to play. Mommy and I played a lot of ski ball! There are 12 kids at my new school and I am getting to know them all. Mommy says that I am adjusting well, but I get a little sad because I miss my old daycare ladies, and my sister. The plus side is that when we get home I get Elizabeth all to myself.

I love sitting with Elizabeth on the couch at night. I'm teaching her all about Elmo, so we sit on the couch and watch Sesame Street sometimes. There are times though that I get a little rough with her- Mommy and Daddy don't like that very much. When I'm mean I have to sit in time out. I'm working on being nice all the time. I definitely miss Elizabeth during the day, but it makes our nights together that much better!

I've got new skills....

Well I finally did it. I figured out how to sit up all by myself. And thank goodness- I was getting tired of laying on my back all the time. It all the sudden happened one day. Mommy tried to put me down for a nap and I was not pleased. So I started to cry, and after a few minutes Mommy came in to rescue me (like she always does) and she found me sitting up in the corner of my crib. Boy was she surprised! She immediately took me downstairs and put me on my back again. So I had to roll over and slowly push myself up----AGAIN! Then she called Daddy into the room and tried to get me to do it again but hey- I am no performer-- so I just laid there. But she was able to catch it on video for all to see.

As you can see from the video I'm incredibly flexible and that's really how I'm able to do it. By doing the splits I can also pivot myself around. I get around pretty good these days. I do an interesting rolling/ scooting/ pivot combo that really propels me across the floor. Mommy hasn't been able to catch that on video but it's pretty funny I guess.

One of my new favorite hobbies is to tear up magazines. Since I'm able to move myself around, I always seem to work my way over to the coffee table and I grab the nearest magazine and rip it up. Isn't that what you do with magazines?? I keep hearing this word "no" all the time. When I get near the magazines, when I try to touch the stereo or the cable box. Even when my sister tries to give me food. I don't really know what the "no" means but it can't be good. All the fun seems to stop when Mommy and Daddy say it.

I'm getting really big these days. I'm probably 20 pounds (we'll find out for sure next month) but Mommy and Daddy say I'm heavier because they complain when they carry around my car seat. And I have two teeth! Both are on the bottom and boy were they a pain to get in. Mommy thinks I'm working on another bottom tooth- but we'll see.

She's three!

Happy birthday to me....happy birthday to me.....happy birthday to meeeeeee....HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Yep that's right I officially had my third birthday earlier this month and it was so much fun! Thanks to Elmo and the Sesame Street gang I understand how important birthdays are, not only do you get to have a party and presents, but you get cake too.

My birthday celebration started a couple of weeks before my actual birthday. Mimi and Papaw came to visit so I got my first round of presents. Then my grandma sent some presents from Florida so Mommy and Daddy let me open a couple early. Then I got to take cupcakes to school. My friends loved them. I even helped decorate them- Mommy said that there were more sprinkles then actual cupcake. Finally it was party day. Mommy and Daddy invited four friends (and their parents) over so I could play. We had a really fun time. We got to play in my pool, play with my spray ball that grandma got me, and we played down in my playroom. It was so much fun.

And I forgot to mention my favorite part of the day- CAKE TIME! Mommy spent two days making my cake, and I even helped. The night before my party Mommy and I made the cake and the cookie flowers, and then we decorated the cookies to look like flowers. We gave them little yellow centers and made some leaves too. Mommy I know the cake was good, but I cared about was how it tasted. For all you readers out there Mommy forgot to take a picture of the cake before we ate it. She was just too busy playing with everyone. So we took a picture after everyone had a piece- so at least half of it is pretty.

Everyone had a really fun time. And I was pooped by the end of the day. I wish it could be my birthday everyday! Mommy said that I can have another party next year so I can't wait. I hear Elizabeth is turning one....it sounds like a good excuse for a party!

Birthday's galore!

Summer is the time for birthdays at our house so I thought I would take over the girl's blog to say thanks for all the birthday wishes sent to us over the last month or so. Mine was great. I was on vacation from work, so I got to play with Morgan and Elizabeth all day. We had cake, which Morgan loved! Actually I made it the day before my birthday and she bugged me about it all night, and then the first thing she said to me on my birthday was "Mommy can we eat cake?". She certainly has a one track mind.

Greg had his big birthday last week. The big 3-0! He took it well and we celebrated with a party at home. He got a brand new gas grill! Now if you come over to our house you are certain to get something grilled. I realized as Greg's birthday was approaching that I didn't have a recent picture of the two of us together, so I made our friend take one at Greg's birthday party.

Even though we are getting old we are still pretty cute! The big, big birthday is right around the corner. Greg and I will soon be the parents of a three year old! Wish us luck, I hear three is the new two.

Summertime

Elizabeth and I have a new favorite place---The Spray Park. If you haven't been to one, you are missing out! We have a small park near our house, and instead of a pool there are about five structures that shoot water out, AND IT IS SO MUCH FUN! Mommy took us one afternoon while she was on vacation and I tried it out (Elizabeth just sits in the sun because she's too little to play in the water). At first I was a little afraid of the water and I wouldn't run through the showers, but now I love it. I end up getting soaking wet after a few minutes. We've been four or five times now and I always wear myself out. We even took Mimi this weekend. She thought it was fun too. I even dumped water on her (we all thought that was funny!).

That's all for now. I'm worn out from running around in the water. I'm sure there will be more posts next week. Mommy and Daddy are throwing me a birthday party on Saturday. I'm turning 3! Mommy invited people with kids so there should be lots of fun happening at our house.

The budding artist....

This weekend I got to paint! Mommy and Daddy have been redoing the master bathroom and Mommy decided that the bathroom needed a little bit of color. So she bought me some canvas, paints and brushes. Then she turned me loose on the back porch. I got to paint three pictures for their bathroom. They are really pretty if I do say so myself. Mommy said that almost as much paint got on me. Good thing she took my clothes off- otherwise it would have been a huge mess. Mimi and Papaw liked my painting so much that they asked me to make some for them too.
