Well I finally did it. I figured out how to sit up all by myself. And thank goodness- I was getting tired of laying on my back all the time. It all the sudden happened one day. Mommy tried to put me down for a nap and I was not pleased. So I started to cry, and after a few minutes Mommy came in to rescue me (like she always does) and she found me sitting up in the corner of my crib. Boy was she surprised! She immediately took me downstairs and put me on my back again. So I had to roll over and slowly push myself up----AGAIN! Then she called Daddy into the room and tried to get me to do it again but hey- I am no performer-- so I just laid there. But she was able to catch it on video for all to see.

As you can see from the video I'm incredibly flexible and that's really how I'm able to do it. By doing the splits I can also pivot myself around. I get around pretty good these days. I do an interesting rolling/ scooting/ pivot combo that really propels me across the floor. Mommy hasn't been able to catch that on video but it's pretty funny I guess.
One of my new favorite hobbies is to tear up magazines. Since I'm able to move myself around, I always seem to work my way over to the coffee table and I grab the nearest magazine and rip it up. Isn't that what you do with magazines?? I keep hearing this word "no" all the time. When I get near the magazines, when I try to touch the stereo or the cable box. Even when my sister tries to give me food. I don't really know what the "no" means but it can't be good. All the fun seems to stop when Mommy and Daddy say it.
I'm getting really big these days. I'm probably 20 pounds (we'll find out for sure next month) but Mommy and Daddy say I'm heavier because they complain when they carry around my car seat. And I have two teeth! Both are on the bottom and boy were they a pain to get in. Mommy thinks I'm working on another bottom tooth- but we'll see.

Happy birthday to me....happy birthday to me.....happy birthday to meeeeeee....HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Yep that's right I officially had my third birthday earlier this month and it was so much fun! Thanks to Elmo and the Sesame Street gang I understand how important birthdays are, not only do you get to have a party and presents, but you get cake too.
My birthday celebration started a couple of weeks before my actual birthday. Mimi and Papaw came to visit so I got my first round of presents. Then my grandma sent some presents from Florida so Mommy and Daddy let me open a couple early. Then I got to take cupcakes to school. My friends loved them. I even helped decorate them- Mommy said that there were more sprinkles then actual cupcake. Finally it was party day. Mommy and Daddy invited four friends (and their parents) over so I could play. We had a really fun time. We got to play in my pool, play with my spray ball that grandma got me, and we played down in my playroom. It was so much fun.

And I forgot to mention my favorite part of the day- CAKE TIME! Mommy spent two days making my cake, and I even helped. The night before my party Mommy and I made the cake and the cookie flowers, and then we decorated the cookies to look like flowers. We gave them little yellow centers and made some leaves too. Mommy I know the cake was good, but I cared about was how it tasted. For all you readers out there Mommy forgot to take a picture of the cake before we ate it. She was just too busy playing with everyone. So we took a picture after everyone had a piece- so at least half of it is pretty.
Everyone had a really fun time. And I was pooped by the end of the day. I wish it could be my birthday everyday! Mommy said that I can have another party next year so I can't wait. I hear Elizabeth is turning one....it sounds like a good excuse for a party!

Summer is the time for birthdays at our house so I thought I would take over the girl's blog to say thanks for all the birthday wishes sent to us over the last month or so. Mine was great. I was on vacation from work, so I got to play with Morgan and Elizabeth all day. We had cake, which Morgan loved! Actually I made it the day before my birthday and she bugged me about it all night, and then the first thing she said to me on my birthday was "Mommy can we eat cake?". She certainly has a one track mind.Greg had his big birthday last week. The big 3-0! He took it well and we celebrated with a party at home. He got a brand new gas grill! Now if you come over to our house you are certain to get something grilled. I realized as Greg's birthday was approaching that I didn't have a recent picture of the two of us together, so I made our friend take one at Greg's birthday party.

Even though we are getting old we are still pretty cute! The big, big birthday is right around the corner. Greg and I will soon be the parents of a three year old! Wish us luck, I hear three is the new two.

Elizabeth and I have a new favorite place---The Spray Park. If you haven't been to one, you are missing out! We have a small park near our house, and instead of a pool there are about five structures that shoot water out, AND IT IS SO MUCH FUN! Mommy took us one afternoon while she was on vacation and I tried it out (Elizabeth just sits in the sun because she's too little to play in the water). At first I was a little afraid of the water and I wouldn't run through the showers, but now I love it. I end up getting soaking wet after a few minutes. We've been four or five times now and I always wear myself out. We even took Mimi this weekend. She thought it was fun too. I even dumped water on her (we all thought that was funny!).
That's all for now. I'm worn out from running around in the water. I'm sure there will be more posts next week. Mommy and Daddy are throwing me a birthday party on Saturday. I'm turning 3! Mommy invited people with kids so there should be lots of fun happening at our house.
