Our heck-up

Well that's what Morgan called it anyway. Today Greg and I took both girls to the doctor for their regular check-up. Elizabeth for her 9 month, and Morgan for her 3 year appointment. I tried to prepare Morgan for the visit, and she was somewhat excited. Although when I told her we were going to the doctor she looked at me and said "I'm not feeling good?" I then had to explain that we were going for a check up, which quickly turned into a "heck-up".
When we got to the doctor, Morgan latched onto a book that showed Barbie being a doctor. Well she got that Barbie for her birthday and renamed him Dr. Feel. Anyone that watches Sesame Street knows that Dr. Feel is the puppet version of Dr. Phil McGraw. We got into the room and Morgan got to wear a special gown! She was kind of excited.
The doctor checked both girls out, and both ended up being perfect! Morgan showed the doctor her colors, and proved she could count. Elizabeth proved that she was incredibly strong by fighting against the doctor when she was trying to look in her ears. It was a work out for all of us!
Elizabeth weighed in at 21 pounds and was 27" tall. A little shorter then most- 28th percentile. Which isn't surprising- her parents are that tall! Morgan weighed in at 31 pounds and was 37" tall. Both girls did well with the doctor visit. Although I'm not sure I will take them both together again. Without Greg it would have been a huge disaster!

The look alikes

I realize there have been three other new posts, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to show the two girls side by side in a comparison....I'll let you guess who is who.

I need a post too....

I don't really have an update, but since Belle and Elizabeth both posted something I thought I should too. I'm having a lot of fun at preschool. Most mornings it's hard for me to leave Mommy and Elizabeth, but I get over it pretty quickly. So far we've learned about pirates, bugs and cowboys! Plus I get to play all the time! Mommy picks me up and I am normally outside playing on the slide or the swings. I have so much fun! I do miss the other daycare I was at, but sometimes Mommy picks me up first so I get to go with her to pick up Elizabeth. So when I help pick her up I get to see all my old friends! Most of the time I run out of the car to meet them. I definitely miss my old friends, but I know I will see them soon when they come to preschool! I'm sure I'll have many more updates soon!

Check me out!

So I told everyone in a previous post about my new skill of crawling- well Mommy finally caught it on camera. Look how good I am! I can go even faster then this, but I only had a short distance to go to get to Mommy.

Now that I can crawl I have favorite places to visit- the electrical cords (although Mommy took them away) and the dog's water bowl! I love the water bowl. I crawl over there pretty much every morning while Mommy's getting ready and I splash around in it. It's so much fun! Lately the bowl has disappeared-I think Mommy and Daddy have taken it away. That means no more fun for me! I'm sure I will find plenty of other things to get in to.

I keep over hearing Mommy and Daddy saying how difficult it is having me crawling around. I get in to everything! I am definitely breaking their habits of leaving the door open to downstairs, and leaving things around that I can get into. I am definitely keeping them on their toes!

Poor Belle.....

So some have wondered how Miss Belle has been fairing recently. Well, she has adjusted to having two kids chasing after her and she is taking comfort in the fact that she has twice the snacks to steal now. However recently she has been pretty pathetic as you can see from the picture. When we went to Iowa we had to send Belle to camp. Camp is a wonderful place that lets her play all day both inside and outside. But she ate the food that they served there instead of her own. Well since she has allergies, something in the food set her off and she started being itchy. She kept licking her feet and she licked one so bad that it got infected. Poor Belle had to go to the vet and they gave her the lovely collar! She was not pleased at all. She had medicine to take twice a day and she wasn't allowed to be inside without the collar. It was so annoying! She kept hitting the door frames, the wall, pretty much anything since she couldn't see beyond the collar.
Recently we took the collar off- mainly because we were tired of her hitting the walls, and us, but also because her foot was much better. Lesson learned- don't let Belle eat the camp food.

A Christmas Story sequel

This is Mom here. Remember the movie a Christmas Story, and Ralphie opens up the gift from his aunt and it is a giant bunny costume.....this is my version of that.

Watch out world....

because here I come! I can officially crawl. I've been scooting around for awhile, and doing a weird pivot twist move, but I can now officially crawl like a normal baby. Last night Mommy moved me away from a pile of papers in the office (that I was trying to eat) and I wanted to get back over there....so I crawled. Mommy was amazed, and I got to my papers. Now Mommy said that she really has to be on her game- well to me it doesn't matter. If she isn't on her game I get to have more fun! I get to play with the DVD player, the stereo, the Xbox and anything else I can get my little hands on.

Everything else in my world has been the same. I've been sick for the last month with back to back colds and now they turned into an ear infection in each ear. That's been no fun for me and Mommy, and everyone else I've been around. I've been incredibly cranky to say the least. But we did find out that I am up to a whopping 19 pounds! Maybe now that I can move I'll burn off some calories. We will see. As you can see from Morgan's post, I am now alone at daycare. It's kind of nice not being picked on all day long- plus I'm gaining seniority at day care. I'm not the youngest baby anymore. Pretty soon I'll be the boss at school.
