Well I finally did it. I figured out how to sit up all by myself. And thank goodness- I was getting tired of laying on my back all the time. It all the sudden happened one day. Mommy tried to put me down for a nap and I was not pleased. So I started to cry, and after a few minutes Mommy came in to rescue me (like she always does) and she found me sitting up in the corner of my crib. Boy was she surprised! She immediately took me downstairs and put me on my back again. So I had to roll over and slowly push myself up----AGAIN! Then she called Daddy into the room and tried to get me to do it again but hey- I am no performer-- so I just laid there. But she was able to catch it on video for all to see.
Happy birthday to me....happy birthday to me.....happy birthday to meeeeeee....HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Yep that's right I officially had my third birthday earlier this month and it was so much fun! Thanks to Elmo and the Sesame Street gang I understand how important birthdays are, not only do you get to have a party and presents, but you get cake too.

Summer is the time for birthdays at our house so I thought I would take over the girl's blog to say thanks for all the birthday wishes sent to us over the last month or so. Mine was great. I was on vacation from work, so I got to play with Morgan and Elizabeth all day. We had cake, which Morgan loved! Actually I made it the day before my birthday and she bugged me about it all night, and then the first thing she said to me on my birthday was "Mommy can we eat cake?". She certainly has a one track mind.Greg had his big birthday last week. The big 3-0! He took it well and we celebrated with a party at home. He got a brand new gas grill! Now if you come over to our house you are certain to get something grilled. I realized as Greg's birthday was approaching that I didn't have a recent picture of the two of us together, so I made our friend take one at Greg's birthday party.

Even though we are getting old we are still pretty cute! The big, big birthday is right around the corner. Greg and I will soon be the parents of a three year old! Wish us luck, I hear three is the new two.
Elizabeth and I have a new favorite place---The Spray Park. If you haven't been to one, you are missing out! We have a small park near our house, and instead of a pool there are about five structures that shoot water out, AND IT IS SO MUCH FUN! Mommy took us one afternoon while she was on vacation and I tried it out (Elizabeth just sits in the sun because she's too little to play in the water). At first I was a little afraid of the water and I wouldn't run through the showers, but now I love it. I end up getting soaking wet after a few minutes. We've been four or five times now and I always wear myself out. We even took Mimi this weekend. She thought it was fun too. I even dumped water on her (we all thought that was funny!).
That's all for now. I'm worn out from running around in the water. I'm sure there will be more posts next week. Mommy and Daddy are throwing me a birthday party on Saturday. I'm turning 3! Mommy invited people with kids so there should be lots of fun happening at our house.
Check out my new skills...I can sit up all by myself! Mommy has been propping me up for awhile and holding my hands so that I could sit up, but over the weekend I did it all by myself. Now I'm so good that I can even balance a little. Balance is key because it means you don't fall over nearly as much. Now my only problem is figuring out how to lay down gracefully. At the moment I just get tired of sitting and then cry- it's either that, or I just fall over. It's a whole new world when you are sitting. I figured out that I have a dog and a cat in my house! I guess I never noticed them before, but now that I can sit, they come and walk by me. They are fascinating creatures! Mommy thought that a picture of my new skill didn't do it justice, so she took a video. Since the camera was rolling, I also decided to shown you my other new skill- blowing raspberries! I do it all the time- even at dinner. Mommy doesn't like it when I do it with a mouth full of oatmeal, but Morgan and I think it's pretty funny. You can see from the video that I'm getting pretty big! Mommy is still waiting for my teeth to come in. They are taking their sweet time. Luckily, I'm not nearly as fussy anymore. I'm learning new things almost every day. I'm even learning how to feed myself. Mommy takes care of all the spoon feedings, but I learned how to eat puffs! If you aren't sure what a puff is, it's basically a Cheerio with a little bit of flavor on it. Mommy says that they have absolutely no nutritional value at all- but I LOVE PUFFS!
At first I ate them one at a time, but now I eat them by the fist full. Morgan likes to feed me puffs too. She's such a good sister. The dog is much more interested in me now too. I guess she likes puffs too.
