She's walking!

This post will be pretty short. Mainly because there aren't any cute pictures to post because I've been so busy chasing Miss Elizabeth around! For those that check into the site frequently I thought you would be happy to hear that Elizabeth is officially walking!
At Christmas she would walk from object to object- like from the couch to the table, then the table to the couch. She just didn't seem to have the confidence to walk. But over the last couple of weeks they kept telling me at daycare that she was walking more and more- so one day when I went to pick her up I saw her walk from one side of the room to the other to come and get me. After that she seemed a little braver. She would walk short distances and then fall, or latch onto a piece of furniture.
Well as of last week she chooses to walk everywhere she goes. She even tries running- although her little legs can't keep up and she ends up falling on her face. As the days go by she is looking less like a zombie when she walks, and when she falls down she immediately gets back up and keeps on walking.
The world of the Clark's has officially changed- wish us luck.

Say Cheese!

For awhile I have been really interested in cameras and how they work. Mommy is always asking me to "Say Cheese" at the camera, and sometimes I do- but recently I have wanted to see how it works, and to see me on the camera. So Mommy told Santa that I might like a kid digital camera. So since I was really good this year, he brought me one! I thought I would share some of my first pictures!

This is my Mimi.

This is my daddy.

This is my Mommy.

This is my Christmas Tree.

This is my Papaw.

This is a self portrait of ME!

This is Lizzy.

This is Papaw and Mommy.

My gingerbread house.

My afternoon snack- Frosted Cheerios!
I think this is a great present! Now I can post my on photos with my blog updates. And who knows, maybe I will find my calling and become a famous photographer!

Christmas at the Clark's

I finally found some time to share our Christmas with everyone. The events started on the 23rd with Morgan's preschool play which was wonderful! It also started out with Elizabeth getting pneumonia which was not awesome. Luckily by Christmas Day Elizabeth was feeling better and was able to enjoy some of the festivities.

Last year was the first year Morgan was really into Christmas, and this year was even better. She knew who Santa was, and knew he was coming to see her. And better yet she knew that she needed to leave him cookies by the fireplace. So you guessed it- we had to make cookies. So before everyone got into town we started making our cookies.

Morgan loves to bake cookies and she does a pretty good job! So on Christmas Eve, once Mimi, Papaw and Grandma got to our house it was time to decorate! Last year Morgan was mainly in charge of sprinkles, but this year I decided to be a little more brave and I got some supplies to make it easier for her to decorate her cookies. (And it was fun to be all artsy with the decorating!)

Morgan had four colors of icing, many kinds of sprinkles and chocolate chips, which she ate quite a few of.

Using the icing bags were fun, and it made things easier for Morgan.

The final result- aren't they pretty! Morgan picked out five cookies for Santa. She helped make a little note for him and we put them by the fireplace when she went to bed. And for those wondering- Santa loved the cookies!

We had a great Christmas Even dinner at our house, and tracked Santa on the computer. To this day Morgan wants to see Santa on the computer. She is having a hard time figuring out the Christmas is only once a year. Finally it was Christmas morning! Luckily Morgan (and Elizabeth) let us sleep in until about 7:30 and I awoke to a little girl asking if she could go see if Santa came. We rushed downstairs and the excitement began!

Morgan and Elizabeth must have been incredibly good this year because Santa was really good to them. They got tons of new toys, new clothes and a couple of movies.

This is Morgan's new Curious George stuffed animal that also had a new Curious George book to match. She really likes the Curious George and pretty much every night she tucks him into his own bed in her room.

This is Morgan opening one of Elizabeth's presents. Elizabeth wasn't that excited about her presents, and only lasted an hour or so before she went back to sleep. It took most of the morning for her to kick the last of the fever associated with the pneumonia. Her Mimi took care of her that morning.

After a big breakfast, and a quick cleanup we spent the rest of the day playing with our new toys. We did make time to decorate a few more cookies and to make our gingerbread house! And for those that remember last year- Belle did not eat this one.

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

Elizabeth's Christmas Sickness

Since Morgan got to post something Mommy let me post something too. My pre-Christmas festivities weren't as much fun as Morgan's. We started on Sunday afternoon with a trip to the Children's Museum. Daddy was finishing the new hardwood floor project at home so Mommy took us out for the day to keep us out of his hair. I did pretty good the whole time, but by the end of the day I was wiped out.

The minute I got home I tried to fall asleep on the new floors so Mommy put me down for a quick nap. When I woke up, not only was I very cranky, but I had a fever of 101. Mommy thought it might just be my 6 new teeth I was cutting (note from Mommy: yes Elizabeth got 6 new teeth all at once!) so she put me to bed early. The next morning I woke up and was my chipper self so off we went to daycare.

Well I did pretty good most of the day, but right as Mommy was leaving work Miss Natalie called her and said I had a fever of 103.1! Since the holidays were coming up Mommy took me to Medcheck that night and an incredibly nice, retired pediatrician checked me out. He listened to my heart, lungs and looked in my ears. He even made me get a chest x-ray. Let me tell you- THAT WAS NOT FUN! Turns out I had pneumonia in my right lung. While we were at Medcheck Mommy tried to keep me entertained by taking pictures...as you can see I just don't look happy.

Well the next day was Morgan's play, so Mommy and Daddy gave me a dose of Tylenol to help the fever and hoped for the best, because we couldn't miss Morgan's play. While she was on stage, Daddy kept me entertained with puffs, water and the camera.

Once the Tylenol kicked in I was much happier- but it only lasted for a little while. Most of my Christmas vacation was spent sleeping and playing it pretty quiet. Luckily I was much happier Christmas evening, and now I am pretty much as good as new!

For those wondering what I am up to these days- as I said earlier I got 6 new teeth including both top molars. I can walk when I want to, at the most I have taken 7 steps, so Mommy says I just need confidence. Personally, I just like being carried around- who wouldn't! I am up to 24 pounds and we will see how tall I am next month. Oh yeah, and I got tubes a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully now I won't have any more ear infections!

Hollywood Here I Come!

Mommy said that we have a lot of blog information so she let me start off by telling you about my Preschool play! Every year daycare has a holiday party that all the kids, parents and families get to come to. Everyone brings food, Santa comes and brings presents and there is always a program done by the older kids. Well now I am officially an "older kid" so that meant I got to be in the program! Normally the program is just the 3 and 4 year olds singing some Christmas Carols but this year Miss Julie decided to go a little overboard and put on a play. She found "Candy Cane Lane" on the Internet and found all the props and costumes that we needed too! We practiced our songs for months and it turned out pretty good!

Here is a view of the stage. We had Santa's sleigh on the right, and a Christmas Tree forest on the left. And of course plenty of candy canes since it was Candy Cane Lane!

My friend Kaya and I got to play elves. We were friends with the Candy Canes and were trying to figure out which color was better- green or red?

That's me waving to Mommy who was in the front row taking pictures! That's my friend Kaya in the background. You can see Miss Julie and Miss Amber are trying to make sure we are in the right spot.
Mommy also was able to take a few videos of the play to share with everyone. This was her favorite. You can see I was getting a little bored with the play (it was nearly 15 minutes!) so I started dancing to the music.
Before I took off my costume Mommy wanted to get a picture. She said I was adorable. Hopefully she won't use this picture against me when I am older.

The play went really well. Afterwards we ate a big lunch and Santa came! He gave each one of us kids presents. Mine was a huge stuffed unicorn! I loved it! The daycare party kicked off our Christmas festivities and I am sure Mommy will let us post more later. Hope you enjoyed the video of my play!

They should be models.....

I've been waiting and waiting to have these images and I am so excited to be able to show them off. Our good friend Kate has started her own Photography business and I couldn't wait to sign her up to do a session with the girls. So when we were in Brown County with Kate and her family we decided to take advantage of the time and beautiful setting. A special thanks to Kate for working with the girls and for giving us these digital images. Enjoy!

It's Christmas time!

I apologize for the delay in adding a new post- but hey it's a busy time in the Clark House getting ready for Santa and all. A few weeks ago while Greg was working on our new floors I took the girls to the Children's Museum to burn off some energy. We started in our normal spot- Playscape and rode the carousel and then on our way downstairs we spotted the Winter Wonderland Exhibit. So we made a pitstop. They had all sorts of stuff to play with- ice fishing holes, a castle with a slide and a variety of other things, but they also had SANTA!

Well when we got into the exhibit I noticed Santa was on a break and he was scheduled to be back very soon. So I thought "hey wouldn't it be fun to get a picture of the girls with Santa?", so I decided to wait. While we were standing in line Elizabeth was content in her stroller and Morgan ran back and forth between me and the many toys. She was excited by the idea of seeing Santa and sitting on his lap. Now what I thought was going to be a 5-10 minute wait turned into 20-30 minutes. Apparently Santa needed to take a much longer break then he was supposed to. Didn't he realize that there were 20 kids and many more frustrated parents waiting on him!

Well finally the man in the red suit showed up and Morgan was excited. She was ready to tell him that she wanted TOYS! So it finally was our turn, I had my picture form filled out and the girls were ready.....I gave Elizabeth to Santa and then went to get Morgan.....as I was turning around to get Morgan she was flipping out at the idea of having to get anywhere near Santa.

They tried to get her to sit with Elizabeth and with me, and even tempted her with candy (as did Santa) but she wouldn't do it. So I got a picture of Elizabeth and Santa. As you can see Elizabeth is less the thrilled, and Santa looks kind of creepy.
